How to resize embedded images
« on: August 11, 2016, 08:22:28 AM »
Want to embed an image into a post but can't or don't want to resize it at the source?
You can use BBCode to resize embedded images by putting width=x height=y into the img tag, like so:
Code: [Select]
[img width=678 height=508]image URL[img]
  • Right-click on the image you want to embed and look for 'View Image Info' (Firefox) or 'Inspect' (Chrome). This will give you the image's dimensions (amongst other things).
  • Use a calculator to multiply the width by a number between 1 and 0, reducing it to a sensible size (eg: 0.5 to make it half its original size).
  • Multiply the height by the same number to preserve the dimensions.
  • Plug those into the IMG tag and post away to your heart's content*
